JEHOVAH EL SHADDAI שַׁדַּי יִרְאֶה

THE LORD IS THE ALMIGHTY MOUNTAIN, ALL-SUFFICIENT ONE WHO BESTOWS NOURISHMENT & FRUITFULNESS

God the Mountain: portraying God as a towering, unshakeable "God of the Mountain."

The All-Sufficient One: meaning "the One who is enough."

The Nourisher: depicting God as a sustainer who nurtures, comforts, and provides for His people as a mother does for her child.

Genesis 17:1-8 (promise of abundance, fruitfulness, and transformation)

1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.
2 And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.”
3 Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying:
4 “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations.
5 No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.
6 I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you.
7 And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.
8 Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

JEHOVAH RAPHA IN FINANCE הוה רפא

THE LORD WHO HEALS

Exodus 15:26:

26 and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”

  • The foundation for Jehovah Rapha, linking obedience to healing.

Matthew 6:31-33
31 Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

  • Trust God for provision instead of worrying.

Proverbs 10:22:
The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.

  • The blessing of the Lord brings riches.

Luke 12:15:
15 And He said to them, Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.

  • Life isn't about the abundance of possessions; it's about a rich heart.

  1. Healing Financial Pain: Just as Jehovah Rapha heals physical ailments, believers ask Him to heal the anxiety, stress, debt, and lack that come from financial hardship.
  2. Provision & Breakthrough: Prayers often combine Rapha (healing) with Jireh (provider), asking God to open doors, bless work, and meet needs, leading to financial wholeness.
  3. Mindset Shift: It's about shifting focus from money as a ruler to Christ as King, finding contentment and true prosperity in Him, not just possessions.

JEHOVAH ROHI IN FINANCE רֹעִי יהוה

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD

Psalm 23:1-2
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside the still waters.
  • Trust that God will provide for ALL your needs, even when financial resources seem low.
  • Signifies God's active role in guiding, protecting, and providing for every aspect of life, including financial needs.
  • As the Shepherd, God is not merely a provider (Jehovah Jireh) but also a guardian who directs, feeds, and ensures that the "sheep" (believers) have what they need to thrive.

Trust Him - Isaiah 26:3
3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

Relying on Jehovah Rohi means choosing to be content and trusting in His care rather than worrying about finances.

Practical Steps to Blessings in Financial Stewardship

1 Timothy 5:8
8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

It is every adult's responsibility to provide for themselves, their family, their child(ren), and anyone else entrusted to their care. Otherwise, they are considered “unsaved” or a “sinner.”

Real Men stand by their wives. Real Men provide for and are role models to their children.  Unfortunately, if the man is not responsible or is unavailable, this responsibility is transferred to the mother or appointed guardian.

  • Acknowledge God's Ownership: Recognize that all resources ultimately belong to God, and you are simply a steward (manager) of His provisions. This transforms financial decisions into acts of worship and accountability.
  • Prioritize Generosity: Make giving a top priority, not an afterthought. Incorporate tithing (giving the first 10% of your income to your local church) into the very first line of your budget, followed by 3-7% or more in offerings to other causes.
  • Create and Follow a Budget: Be a diligent planner by using a budget to track income and expenses and plan where every dollar goes before the month begins. This helps in living within your means and ensures you have enough to cover necessities, save, and give.
  • Live Below Your Means and Avoid Debt: Cultivate contentment and discipline by spending less than you earn. Actively work to eliminate existing debt, viewing freedom from lenders as a way to serve God more fully without the burden of financial bondage.
  • Save and Plan for the Future: Practice foresight by building an emergency fund (aim for 3-6 months' worth of expenses) and investing for the long term, such as retirement. This demonstrates wisdom and prepares for unforeseen circumstances without fear.
  • Seek Wise Counsel and Pray: Do not rely solely on your own understanding. Pray for financial wisdom and seek advice from godly, experienced mentors or financial advisors who align with your values.
  • Be Diligent and Hardworking: Work with excellence and diligence in your job or business, recognizing that your ability to produce financial gain is a gift from God. Hard work and honesty lead to stability and allow you to provide for your family.
